Born on October 8, 1943 as Cornelius Crane Chase, Chevy Chase is one fortunate being, having been born into a prominent family. He experienced working in different fields before finally venturing into acting. He first became the drummer of a college band, and then became the drummer and keyboardist of the Chamaeleon Church band that gave him the opportunity to be exposed to the entertainment industry. The Chamaeleon Church band recorded an album under MGM Records once.
Chevy Chase also experienced being a construction worker, a motorcycle messenger, a truck driver, a cab driver, a wine store salesman, an audio engineer, a produce manager of a supermarket, a fruit picker, a busboy, a theater usher, and a waiter before finally deciding to seriously get involved with the entertainment industry. It was in 1973 when Chevy Chase made a full-time career being a comedian, actor, and writer.
Among the motion pictures he has done are "Oh Heavenly Dog," "Foul Play," "Tunnel Vision," "Modern Problems," "Caddyshack," "National Lampoon's European Vacation," "Spies Like Us," "Three Amigos!," "Christmas Vacation," "Nothing But Trouble," "Foul Play," and "Vegas Vacation."
He has also appeared in several television programs, including "Primetime Glick," "The Howard Stern Show," "The Nanny," and "All in the Family."
Aside from writing scripts and acting, Chevy Chase is also passionate about playing poker. A lot of people witnessed the participation of this celebrity poker player in the Game 4 of the poker television show titled "Celebrity Poker Showdown" on October 31, 2004. But prior to such appearance, this celebrity poker player has already been playing high stakes poker for a long time.
This celebrity poker player is a member of the poker organization called the Hollywood Gourmet Poker Club. The founder of such poker club is celebrity Johnny Carson and among its celebrity members are Neil Simon, Barry Diller, Carl Reiner, Steve Martin, and Martin Short. These celebrities, along with Chevy Chase and many other members of such poker organization, meet on a monthly basis to have fun and play poker against each other.
Despite the seriousness of Chevy Chase as a Hollywood actor, this celebrity poker player makes it a point that he still has time to have fun by playing his favorite casino game with his fellow Hollywood celebrities.
